Ziua Limbii Române este un moment în care ar trebui să ne aducem aminte de importanța deosebită a acestui element al identității noastre naționale.

România de astăzi există ca urmare a limbii române, în jurul căreia au fost posibile Unirea Principatelor Române și Marea Unire și care stă la baza întemeierii sentimentului național. Nici un alt element nu ne unește mai tare ca faptul că vorbim aceeași limbă și nu există niciun argument mai puternic care să fi fost invocat în făurirea statului național unitar român.

Limba română este principalul liant care ne ține împreună, care ne definește mai presus de orice, și de aceea ar trebui să o ocrotim și să o prețuim.

Romanian Language Day is a time when we should remember the special importance of this element of our national identity.

Today’s Romania exists as a result of the Romanian language, around which the Union of the Romanian Principalities and the Great Union were possible and which is the basis for the foundation of the national feeling. No other element unites us more strongly than the fact that we speak the same language and there is no stronger argument that would have been invoked in the creation of the Romanian unitary national state.

The Romanian language is the main binder that holds us together, that defines us above all, and that is why we should protect and cherish it.
