Every year, on May 18th, it is celebrated the International Museum Day. On this occasion, under the patronage of the European Council and UNESCO, an annual cultural event called “The Night of the Museums” is organized in different cities of the world when museums from all over the world open their doors for free until late in the night.

Members of Romania Levant Association took this opportunity and did a presentation of the Romanian museums. Parents and children, each one spoke about a museum from his hometown: The Palace of Culture Iasi, which houses the Museum of History of Moldova, the Ethnographic Museum of Moldova and the Art Museum; Navy Museum Constanta, Danube Delta Museum from Tulcea, International Museum of Painted Eggs from Vama, Bucovina, the Museum of Peles Castle, the Art Museum from Craiova, the Village Museum from Bucharest; and some other museums unique in the world: the Pastry Museum from Arad; the Museum of Neolithic Art from Cucuteni, Piatra Neamt; the Watch Museum from Ploiesti; the Straw Hats Museum from Criseni, Harghita; the Gold Museum from Brad, Hunedoara and the Perfume Museum from Bucharest.

Ziua internațională a muzeelor este sărbătorită în fiecare an la data de 18 mai. Cu această ocazie, în diferite orașe ale lumii se organizează Noaptea muzeelor, un eveniment cultural anual patronat de Consiliul Europei si UNESCO, prin care diferite muzee din lume iși deschid liber porțile până târziu noaptea.

Membrii Asociatiei Romania Levant au profitat de aceasta ocazie si au facut o prezentare a muzeelor românești. Parinti si copii, fiecare a vorbit despre un muzeu din orașul său natal: Palatul culturii Iasi, care este sediul Muzeului de Istorie al Moldovei, Muzeului Etnografic al Moldovei, Muzeului de Artă; Muzeul Marinei din Constanța;Muzeul Delta Dunării din Tulcea; Muzeul Internațional al Ouălelor Încondeiate din Vama-Bucovina; Muzeul Castelului Peleș ; Muzeul de Artă din Craiova; Muzeul Satului din Bucuresti; dar si câteva muzee unice in lume: Muzeul Cofetăriei din Arad; Muzeul de Artă Neolitică Cucuteni din Piatra Neamț; Muzeul Ceasului din Ploiești; Muzeul Pălăriilor de Paie de la Crișeni, Harghita; Muzeul Aurului din Brad, Hunedoara si Muzeul Parfumului din Bucuresti.
