It is already a tradition that every year, during the month of March, the Romanian Embassy in Lebanon and “Amlieh” High School in Beirut mark the Francophonie Days through numerous activities in which francophone teachers and students participate.
This year, on March 5th, the festivities hall of “Amlieh” High School hosted the opening ceremony of Francophonie Days in the presence of HE the Ambassador of Romania in Lebanon, Mr. Victor Mircea and his wife, Mrs Laura Mircea, the President of the Amlieh Association, Mr. Mohamed Youssef Baydoun, Mr. Eric Lebas and Mrs Blandine Yazbek, cultural attaché, respectively pedagogical adviser at the French Institute in Lebanon and Mrs Effat Abou Assaly, journalist at “L’Orient Litteraire”.
The opening speech was followed by the presentation “The Paths of History”.
The event featured also the play “Moi, le mot”, by Romanian writer Matei Visniec, performed by the students of “Amlieh” High School under the guidance of their teacher, Mrs Anca Cheaito.
